Favourite Christmas Songs

Due to the atmosphere of Christmas, I just feel that I need to post something about Christmas
Maybe listing my favourite Christmas Songs would be nice πŸ˜›

For the church song category :

  1. Silent Night / Stille Nacht
Anyone of you getting bored of this song? πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ Well, I’m not. This is a very good song. I really like listening to it.
    A little bit trivia :
The song was sung simultaneously in English and German by troops during the Christmas truce (a hostility cessation) of 1914, as it was one of the few carols that soldiers on both sides of the frontline knew. This is a very inspiring story, take your time to read it.
  2. O Holy Night / Cantique de Noel
Great song! I really like the music along with the lyrics. Everytime I listen to this song, it feels like peace surrounding me.

  3. Go Tell It On The Mountain
I first sang this song when I was in junior high. Well, I was singing in front of the church. That time my family perform this song with another family which was a close friend for our family. That was a delightful memory for me.
  4. What A Child Is This
This song was written with Greenslevees rhyme, a song that believed written by King Henry VIII for his lover. Can’t tell why I like it, but I really love the rhyme.
  5. O Come All Ye Faithful / Adeste Fideles
Really like the music and the lyric.

  6. Transeamus
When I was in junior high, I sang this song in the choir. This might be the first time I sang latin song (not the one from South America). Although this song made goosebumps all over my skin, I feel very happy singing this song in the choir back then. That explains why I really like huge choir with soloists and complete orchestra. (It will be so nice if it was featured by band, like that old time).

  7. When A Child Is Born
Charlotte Church version of this song is the best! Back then I didn’t know that actually the original song wasn’t a Christmas Carol, but even the lyric suits the atmosphere of Christmas.

For the seasonal song category :

  1. White Christmas
A song telling story about snowing christmas. I’ve never celebrate Christmas in snow season (in fact, I haven’t gone to country with snow season). In other hand, I really could the atmosphere and the feeling told by this song.
  2. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Pair of best friends is the figure of this song. So if you happened to celebrate Christmas with your bes friend, this song is the best fit. The earlier draft of the lyric. I like this version, a little bit rough, but very touching. Isn’t it?

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
    It may be your last
Next year we may all be living in the past

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
    Pop that champagne cork
Next year we may all be living in New York.

No good times like the olden days,
    Happy golden days of yore,
Faithful friends who were dear to us
Will be near to us no more.

But at least we all will be together
    If the Lord allows.
From now on we’ll have to muddle through somehow.
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

  3. Twelve Days Of Christmas
I thought this is a very funny song. I’ve never finished singing this song. Couldn’t catch up my breath πŸ˜› πŸ˜›
They said the total cost of all the presents mentioned of this song is $72,608.02 in 2005 and $75,122.03 now. Wow, I really can’t give them to my true love some time in the future then πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
  4. Walking In The Winter Wonderland
This is not originally Christmas Song. But I like it πŸ˜› of course the version of Charlotte Church
  5. I’ll Be Home For Christmas
Yeah, I’ll be home for Christmas today!
