The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu). Another great anime series I’ve watched recently! When I bought a second hand hard-disk from my friend, he decided to give me a bonus packed in the hard-disk data. Well, I told him to give me mangascan I would like to read. But then he offered me an anime series which he thought it was so great series. Of course, as a friend, I couldn’t reject his offer. Now, I would have been regretting myself if I had rejected early.

What will happen when an ordinary guy trapped with a group consists of an extraordinary girl, a time traveler, an alien, and an ESP user? A series of great adventures would be the answer. Kyon (キョン) an ordinary high school student was dragged out from his ordinary live after he met Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒ), a classmate who sit behind him. Haruhi seemed didn’t like ordinary things as she was interested in mysterious things such as aliens, time travelers, and ESP users. At first Kyon and Haruhi didn’t get along together since Haruhi refused to talk to him. But then after a bit long time, Haruhi could spend much time talking to Kyon which end up in an idea of making a club. Both of them founded a new club named S.O.S. Brigade (SOS団). Next their member would be consist of both of them, Yuki Nagato (長門 有希) – a literal club, who will reveal herself as an alien –, Mikuru Asahina (朝比奈 みくる) – second year student, a time traveler –, and Itsuki Koizumi (古泉 一樹) – new mysterious transferred student, an ESP user from “The Agency”. (Okay, cut of the spoiling :-X )

I really don’t know what the story all about. At first it seems that the story would offer nothing at all. After watching few serial I found myself enjoying the story. It brings a philosophical meaning of time and dimension that we never realize in our daily lives. And I like the romantic atmosphere between Kyon and Haruhi at the end of the story :pacar: . But regarding the shortness of the atmosphere, I become so disappointed (The bright side : I become so curious about the sequel of the series since it already has 8 series of novel.).

This is a need-to-watch anime series. So, watch it!
